ABOUT
US
No
surprises
What if you were delivered a dozen red roses, but found out they were plastic?
What
if you bought the grand historic house of your dreams, only to discover an
insect infestation?
What
if you rented a limousine, but it showed up late, spotted with rust, smelled of
cigarettes inside, and the driver just gestured his thumb to the back door from
his seat?
No
surprises… Well, not exactly. There
will more than likely be pleasant
surprises.
Perhaps
a better goal is… no
disappointments.
Who
we are
Black
Tie Livery Corporation is headquartered in Rockford, IL.
We are locally owned and operated. You
will not have to pay travel time for service that starts and ends within our
local region.
Our
chauffeurs are long-time area residents. Their
familiarity of local roads and landmarks, complemented by knowledge of
surrounding communities will provide our clients with a smooth progression
through their itinerary.
Our
fleet is available by appointment for your inspection.
We are proud of the condition of our vehicles and think you will be too.
Whether arranging service for yourself or someone else, our fleet will be
a reflection of your taste.
Corporate
Philosophy
One
of the basic concepts of running a business is choosing to compete based on
price, quality, or time. A company
can choose two of the three and still be successful.
Trying to obtain all three often results in failure.
Your
service is a reflection of our selection. Come
to think of it, the service you receive from the competition will also reflect
their choices.
We
chose to distinguish ourselves based on quality
and time.
As a result, you will be treated to our 5-Diamond Service as described
below.

5
Diamond Service |

We
could have called it Red Carpet Service or First Class Service.
Regardless of the name, you know a title without substantiation is
just a gimmick. What
constitutes 5 Diamond Service? The
five categories are… Vehicle
Appearance Vehicle
Luxury Chauffeur
Appearance Chauffeur
Training/Service Operational
Excellence Vehicle
Appearance – You will be transported in a vehicle that is mechanically and
cosmetically maintained. Your
expectations of a clean vehicle, void of dents and oxidation, won’t be
disappointed. Once inside,
details such as spotless carpets, clean glassware, inviting seating
surfaces, and a pleasing aroma will confirm your decision.
Attention to detail is paramount. Vehicle
Luxury
– As you approach from the outside, you will appreciate the regal
stance of a vehicle that permeates elegance.
Brands that are recognized as a luxury vehicle to the
discriminating public or modified vehicles that have luxury appointments
conferred to them will be given consideration. Chauffeur
Appearance –
Typical attire is a suit and tie.
When the occasion requires, a tuxedo may be requested.
If there is a special request for a chauffeur attired in more
casual wear, we will accommodate as appropriate.
A well-kept appearance is also to be expected and a properly
groomed chauffeur is company policy. Chauffeur
Training/Service
– Opening the doors for a client is just one aspect.
You can be assured that your chauffeur’s service has begun way
before your first greeting. On
the day of your event, your driver has given the vehicle final
preparations. This includes an
inspection and furnishing the vehicle per company standards and customer
requests. Your driver will
make sure clean glassware is available, cold water and soft drinks are
loaded, and any other items required to complete your service are present. Upon
receiving notice of your reservation, your chauffeur will become familiar
with your itinerary. This will
include researching any unknown or unfamiliar addresses for physical
location and access considerations. In
addition, you will be served by a chauffeur that has been chosen for
possessing proper social skills and driving skills.
Additional training received will have been to inform the chauffeur
about company policies, legal issues, vehicle functions, and passenger
safety. You
have enough to worry about already. Watching
the clock and wondering if your transportation will arrive on time should
not be a source of stress. To
that end, your chauffeur will typically arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to
the scheduled pick-up time. If
you have a surprise event scheduled, you can be assured the vehicle is in
the vicinity, but will remain out-of-sight until one minute prior to the
scheduled time. Operational
Excellence –
Unseen actions critical to optimal function combined with professional
customer interface. ·
No double bookings.
Reservations are based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once we have confirmed your reservation and have a deposit, we will
not cancel your reservation. If
a more lucrative opportunity presents itself, your service will not be
cancelled in order for us to obtain another reservation. ·
Reservation
process. You should
expect detailed communication with a member of our staff.
It is a given that your event is important to you, that you have
elected to place your trust in others to carry out a critical function.
Fulfilling your expectations begins by understanding your desires. ·
Billing process.
For many occasions, you don't need the hassle of a financial transaction
in front of family and guests. We strive to have all financial
matters attended to prior to the event. ·
Equipment preparedness, fleet
maintenance. It may be
unavoidable that a soft drink gets spilled or a light burns out.
We can’t prevent these things from happening, but we will remedy
the situation as soon as possible. Preventative
maintenance is combined with routine safety and comfort inspections.
We typically keep an inventory of spare parts to keep our fleet in
pristine shape. You will also
appreciate the fact that we make sure tires have plenty of tread and
brakes have plenty of pad. ·
Insurance compliance.
As evidenced by our state issued Vehicle Insurance sticker attached
to the windshield of each vehicle, we are in full compliance of all
required regulations for commercial fleets. · Employees, not independent contractors. Ethics guided our answer to this decision. There is some debate as to how to classify drivers. For Black Tie Livery Corporation, we have chosen to declare our chauffeurs as our employees, not as independent contractors. This means we provide workers compensation insurance to our drivers. |
About
them
When
the competition chooses to focus on price to distinguish themselves, one or both
of the other elements suffer. If the
quality of their fleet suffers, critical maintenance may be ignored.
This could lead to a vehicle with bald tires or worn brakes.
If they compromise on time, they may show up late due to having another
scheduled appointment overlapping with yours.
Some customers may never experience such an event.
Unfortunately, for those that do, they tend to generally categorize all
similar companies with an equal level of disdain.
It would be the equivalent of staying in run-down motel, then forming the
impression that all hotels are poorly maintained.
